A few of you might remember WAAAY back !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in Texas but was curious how I could actually pick them up. Well I’ve decided how I’m going to do it.
Nissan has kindly leant me a brand new Titan XD with the cool Cummins V8 turbodiesel. Myself and a friend will be driving this thing all the way from Toronto to Houston and back. With a few detours of course. We’ll be making a video about the trip and documenting our progress along the way. If you’re an oppo along our path, we’d love to meet up! We’re leaving for Texas this Monday.

I inherited a tool from my grandpa, but I just call him "Dad."
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

Where in Texas? Might be able to give you pointers on good places to eat or interesting places to visit.

Hah, and here I was thinking of proposing a meetup of Toronto Oppos at Duff’s on Bayview after I get into town on Thursday. Oh well, maybe next time!

I’m in Petrolia, Ontario. Kind of funny since there’s also a Petrolia, Texas.

Ooh. Yeah, I've got no tips for west Texas. Had a roommate from there once, but I don't venture west of I-35 often. :-/

If you’re driving through Austin at all, stop downtown at Home Slice. It’s a neat little pizzeria on Congress Avenue just a couple of blocks from the State Capitol.

Those are like infinity distance apart. You’ll absolutely die of boredom. If you trip down through DFW use I45. Once in Houston, head up to Midland through Austin (Highway 71 off I10 so you can go through crazy JADE HELM !!!!!! Bastrop), take 290 to Fredericksburg (stop by Luckenbach @ night), hook 16 North to Llano, then Brady, San Angelo then Midland. Otherwise, burn west on I-10 @80mph until you hit Ozona/Sheffield. If you go through San Angelo, eat the BBQ at Packsaddle.
Can help with eats and places in TX as well.

Well if you’re open to suggestions .... Atwater Brewery is just 1.5 miles(2.4km) up the road from the tunnel. Good beer and food. Plus if you park on the south side of the building you can take this picture with some crap looking buildings and the RenCen in the background.

That should be a fun road trip. I live in the st louis area, the drive to STL will be quite boring (Illinois isn’t much better than Kansas to drive across), from STL down 44 won't be nearly as bad.
How'd you wrangle a loaner car from an automaker? What kind of wizardry do you possess...

If you pass through western South Dakota let me know.
Full disclosure: I have no idea where Toronto is and whether or not it’s “on the way.”
Edit: nowhere near on the way
